How I Cured My Anxiety In One Week

Anxiety is one of the most suffered disorders in the western world up there with back pain and depression. It is known to be a relatively new illness affecting a wide range of people of all ages, sex and nationalities. I myself have suffered from it for the last 10 years. I had episodes so intense that I often came to a point where I just wanted to kill myself just to put an end to it. The only things that kept me from committing suicide were my respect and love for life.

When you are in a state of high anxiety, you lose a lot of your self-control abilities. You feel as if your brain is spinning and literally frying in your cranium, your mind is all over the place but you can't seem to focus on anything, you become really, extremely afraid that you are going to lose your mind and you have tingling sensations all over your body (if it's not just plain numb like it often happened to me).

All of this is highly unpleasant. The 2 most important things that you have to know are:

1) you just CANNOT go crazy and lose your mind from having anxiety, don't ever be scared of that, 2) the dizzy feeling you get is just from the lack of oxygen that your brain suffers when you stress out and panic. It's a natural response from your body. Your breathing becomes too shallow. Try to force yourself to breath deeply through your belly and you should regain clarity of thoughts.

These 2 things kept in mind, it will calm you down if you ever get a panic attack again. Yes you read well. If the causes of your anxiety are the same as mine, you might be able to get rid of it in about a week just by changing CERTAIN THINGS IN YOUR DIET. It took me 5 years to discover what I am about to share with you. I consider everybody on earth to be my friends and I care. This is why I am going to tell you what the FOOD AND DRUG INDUSTRY DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW.

The first thing you are going to learn is how to read food and drugs labels. It is a pretty easy thing to do once you get used to it. It is a life-saving skill that most people underestimate.

There are 2 things to look out for when you are a sensitive subject to anxiety.

1) Aspartame and other brand names of artificial sweeteners, and 2) Any kind of free glutamates like the famous MSG or monosodium glutamate (also known as Annatto, Accent and many more) found in a LOT of processed food.

I am not going to enumerate in details all the things you have to look out for on labels as it is going to be one of the tasks you will have to go through on your path to sanity and well deserved peace of mind and health. Simply go to Google and type in the keywords "MSG, aspartame, anxiety, dangers, poisons, cancer, etc." and a whole new world of secrets is going to unfold in front of (a maybe skeptical) you. Print out a list of things to avoid and stick it on your fridge. Stay open-minded about it all, even if you have been putting your trust in the big food and drugs industries for many years, it's hard to swallow when you realize how their primary goal is not your health but your MONEY.

Publicity and marketing are really good at numbing your mind and having you believe that every product out there is for you own good and safety. But think about it for 2 seconds. In a world where there is war without shame, hunger and so, so much violence and greed for power and money, how could we think anything would stop major companies from wanting to make money? These people cruelly test products on animals, destroy forests and use children as slaves. Those harmful food additives are on the market just because the FDA approves of the chemicals and everybody up there is buddy-buddy! You scratch my back, I scratch yours. One says it's ok, the other one sells it. Everybody makes a profit and everybody gets a ranch, a yacht and a face lift. That's how dishonest business works. These business people are not charitable souls, they are money making sharks. Do you really think they care about YOU? Do not be naive and think about it. You owe it to yourself to be aware and take responsibility for your own health.

As soon as you eradicate those chemicals from your diet you should start feeling better in a short time. There is no damage to your brain from your anxiety and you do not have to live with it ever again. There might be damage from aspartame and MSG, but it should be minor if you are still relatively young (under 35). If you are older and have been using these chemicals for a long amount of time, like let's say, if you've been drinking large amounts of Diet Coke for years, you might want to consider seeing a naturopath that would recommend a DETOX plan for you (well it is considered a hard addictive poisonous drug). What those 2 chemicals were doing was to excite your brain cells to a point where they would just fry out and die. Hence the spinning/frying brain feeling in the most sensitive of us. They also mess with your metabolism, keeping it from normally processing food and nutriments and therefore CAUSING WEIGHT GAIN AND PAIN CAUSING DISEASES (like Fibromyalgia or arthritis). Remember that our bodies are wonderful machines and when we feed them right, they should work perfectly and obesity is not natural in any animals, not even in humans. Have you ever seen a wild animal that was obese? Of course processed food is not part of their diet.

But why you, you might ask? What makes you different from other people who do not seem to suffer from these symptoms? When you hear about people who are "allergic" to MSG or Aspartame, it is not entirely true. Those people are just "above average" sensitive to the chemicals. In some way, everybody is "allergic" to them. They are labeled as POISONS by chemists. When you eat poison, you're poisoned. Not allergic! Other people might experiment different symptoms like developing cancers or having heart failure and seizures. So consider yourself "lucky" to only be experiencing mental symptoms.

As a final word, I would like to warn you about a couple of things. The first one is restaurant food. When many places tend to not add any pure MSG powder to their food, they use sauces and powders that contain some. Some fruit cocktails that are not labeled "diet" also contain Aspartame in order to lower the sugar amounts and make you buy it instead of another one (Aspartame has other names. Look on Google for alternative names). Vaccines sometimes also contain free glutamates. Ask for a list of "ingredients" before you get a shot of anything. You surely want to know what they are injecting you or your CHILDREN with. And also keep in mind that most traditional doctors are not aware of the effects of Aspartame and MSG on people's health. It is often an honest mistake of their part when they do not diagnose someone with food chemicals poisoning.

They have studied medicine in SCHOOLS, which are GOVERNMENT institutions. They do not teach that in schools. Did you know that the company that sells Aspartame often gives money to research teams in universities and threaten to withdraw the "gift" if they publicly come out with negative results on the artificial sweetener? You can easily check that out online. I find that organic "processed" foods tend to have a lot less additives and colorants. They are more expensive but taste much better, are more filling, do not contain pesticides or herbicides and do not make you sick. Surely it is worth the extra money. Also be sure to check the labels on meal replacement drinks like ENSURE, waters with added vitamins and WHEY POWDER PROTEIN SHAKES. My father was heavily using protein shakes during exercising for years, and beside being really healthy looking and fit and having the heart of a 20 years old's, he died of brain cancer at the age of 50.

So I really hope this information is going to help you get rid of anxiety forever, become healthier and who knows, help you with weight issues if that is one of your goals. It is going to be hard. I sometimes get little episodes after going out for dinner or having a nice-tasting flavored latte from the coffee shop. I sometimes go nuts and binge on salt and vinegar chips, which keep me up shaking, sweaty, panicking and confused all night. I should know better. Since free glutamates and aspartame are highly addictives, you might crave them for a while after you go off them, as if you were trying to stop smoking. The human body gets used to any poison we might choose to feed it. You might get moody and angry. It's all part of the process. Do your own research and please, please... spread the word.

How Many Calories Should I Eat a Day?

The term "Calorie" has become very common as this is the measure recommended by dietitians and nutritionists to reduce body weight. Also, this is the term people are more concerned about, to avoid obesity and other ill effects.

Most people think that they consume less calories if they are not eating enough. But this is a wrong approach as this lowers the metabolic rate and puts body into starvation mode. The ideal way is to maintain your calories by eating right amount of highly nutrient food.

An active person who exercises every day will burn more calories than the person who is moderately active with less physical activities.

Men, Women and Children have different daily calorie needs as there are different metabolisms, different heights, weight, age and gender for every human being. The current lifestyle also has an impact in the amount of healthy calorie intake. In general, Men need 2000 to 2500 calories and Women need 1500 to 2400 calories per day depending on their age levels, height and weight. There are many ways to analyse your daily calories needs. Men of age group 31 to 50 with less physical activity levels would need 2200 to 2300 calories per day while women of age group 31 to 50 with less physical activity would need 1800 to 1900 calories per day.

This calculation applies to children as well. Children of age group 2 to 3 years would need 1000 calories per day whereas children of age group 4 to 8 years would need 1100 to 1500 calories per day with less physical activity levels.

Young boys at the age group of 9 to 18 years require around 1800 to 3000 calories and girls require around 1800 to 2200 calories per day.

Women above 50 years of age need 1600 to 1700 calories per day and Men above 50 years may need 2000 to 2200 calories per day with less physical activity levels.

Similarly, Men of age group 20 to 50 years with more Physical activity levels may need 2500 to 3000 calories per day and women may require 2000 to 2500 calories per day.

Men above 50 years would need 2300 to 2800 calories and women would need 1800 to 2300 calories per day with more physical activities.

Calorie Calculator

There are many calorie calculators available online to predict the daily calorie needs. Once you estimate your calorie needs, follow it for a week and start monitoring the changes to your body weight. Make adjustments in calorie intake as required so that you can maintain your weight as you wish.

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

You need to calculate BMR to figure out ho many calories you need per day. BMR measures the amount of calories you need to maintain your current weight with normal body processes. The very simple and basic formulae for calculating your BMR is - just multiply your current body weight by 10.

For example, if your current weight is 100 lbs, 1000 calories per day is the basal metabolic rate. Basal Metabolic Rate calculation does not include the measure from physical activity levels (based on exercise limits). You can use some other formulas like Harris - Benedict formula and Katch-McArdle formula to estimate the BMR that includes activity levels.

Exercise is an important factor that determines your daily calorie needs. If you are more physically active or if you do lot of exercise, your body needs slightly higher calorie levels. However, there are other factors like age, height and amount of body fat you have etc also plays a vital role in determining calorie needs.

Maintain an Activity Diary

You need to evaluate yourself by maintaining an activity diary. You need to determine if you are sedentary, moderately active or active.

You are "sedentary" if there is not much physical activity in your lifestyle or job. It may involve mostly sitting, standing etc. You are "lightly active" if you do very light walking. You are "Moderately active" if you do slightly more physical activity than just walking. This may include doing some cleaning, some other work to be done manually. You are "Very active" if you do lot of work and more exercise. You are "Extremely active" if you are involved in any sports, regular hard work outs etc. Keep a track of these different activity levels in the diary.

Set a target of two weeks and keep a detailed record of things you eat and drink in two weeks period. Record all you physical activities, weight and update the diary every day with your routines. After 2 weeks, if your weight is the same when you started, you are on the right track and you are consuming the calories calculated by BMR. If you have gained weight during the 2 weeks exercise, you need to do the necessary changes in your diet plan.

Balance your diet with healthy foods

It is important to know what type of calories you eat every day. You need to allocate your daily calorie intake as follows:

1. Take 40% of protein rich food every day. You can get rich proteins from lean meat, fish, milk, eggs

2. Eat 40% carbohydrates that come from beans, peas, oats, lentils, yogurts etc. Do not go for items like sugar, beverages, cookies, pizza, bread, potatoes, rice, pasta etc

3. 20% of unsaturated or good fat is acceptable. You can eat nuts, seeds etc

Take only Balanced diet with healthy calories and please do remember that calories are the only way to keep check in your weight. You need to alter the calorie intake to lose weight. Any diet plan without a clear distribution in the types of calories will not be of help. Choose a correct diet plan and determine the daily calorie needs.

HCG Diet Overview

Whey Protein Drink

During the first two days of taking HCG drops, you should be eating very high calorie foods that contain high fat and sugar contents. There is no limit to the number of calories or the types of foods that are eaten. Sweets, cookies, ice cream, deep fried foods, etc are all acceptable foods. It is important that you "load" properly, this is a very critical part of the diet. Do not begin loading if you have not started taking the HCG Drops. It is common for people to gain 3-5 pounds in the first two days. Don't worry, you will lose it all in the follow 48 hours. People that chose not to "load" properly have found that the rest of the unwanted weight does not drop as easily as those people who took the time to "load".

So, start your diet with a party and eat as much as you can!

Sample Diet (after loading) Drink lots of water each day (at least 2 liters)

Breakfast: Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used. Stevia is a much healthier choice.

Lunch:

100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird. Boneless and skinless. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beetgreens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast (Wasa Bread is also acceptable). An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries (6-9 depending on their size) or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner:

The same four choices as lunch (above.)No oil, butter or dressing.

Hint: Our clients have found that saving your fruit and/or melba toast for a snack between lunch and dinner has helped them to not feel as hungry as well as keep their metabolism burning more steadily throughout the day.

5 Sample Recipes

Green Onion Soup

Green onions (allowed amount) 2 c vegetable broth 1-2 t liquid aminos 1 t parsley 1 t zsweet 1/2 t paprika 1/2 t salt 1/2 t dill 1/2 t thyme 1/8 t cayenne or red pepper flakes 1/8 t celery seed

Briefly steam the green onions until tender. Preheat saucepan over MED heat. Chop steamed green onions. In a saucepan, saute the green onions in a bit of vegetable broth for a couple of minutes, then add the parsley, zsweet, paprika, salt, dill, thyme, celery seed, and cayenne. Saute 1-2 mins more. Add remaining vegetable broth, reduce heat, cover and simmer 20-30 mins.

Lemon Pepper Fish

100g whitefish juice of half lemon 1-3 cloves minced garlic 1/2 t black pepper 1/4 t salt 1/4 t cumin powder 1/8 t turmeric

Place fish in small bowl. Add garlic, black pepper, salt, cumin, and turmeric. Ensure to coat both sides. Cover & marinate at least 1 hour in refrigerator. Preheat oven to 400. Place the fish in a non-stick baking dish, & cover with the marinade. Bake 10-20 minutes depending on thickness, until fish easily flakes. Squeeze with lemon juice. Serve.

Crockpot Swiss Steak

100g steak 1 T shake 'n bake 1 T liquid aminos 3-4 cloves minced garlic 1 stalk celery - sliced 1 onion - sliced 1 tomato - diced 1/2-1 c beef broth

Preheat pan over MED-HI heat. Sprinkle steak with liquid aminos. Dip steak in shake 'n bake, coating both sides. Add steak to pan and brown on both sides. Transfer steak to crockpot. Cover with garlic, celery, onions, and diced tomato. Top with beef broth. Don't stir! Cover and cook on low until reaches desired doneness. When done, serve immediately, and cover with juices from crockpot.

NOTE: This dish includes 3 vegetables which are meant only for flavor. When finished cooking, you can discard veggies, or choose to eat just one of them (as we aren't allowed to mix veggies on phase 2 per Dr S).

Asparagus Frittata

3 egg whites 1 whole egg Asparagus (allowed amount) 1-2 cloves minced garlic 1 T dehydrated minced onion 1 T water 1 t parsley Salt/pepper (to taste) Tabasco (optional)

Preheat pan over MED heat. Snap woody ends off asparagus and discard. Snap each asparagus spear into 2-3 pieces. Add to pan with garlic & heat through until tender. Preheat oven to 400. In bowl, mix eggs & water. Add asparagus, minced onion, parsley, salt/pepper. Pour egg mixture into non-stick baking dish (or dish lined with parchment paper). Place in oven and cook 10-15 mins until done. Top with tabasco (optional) and serve immediately.

Orange Ginger Chicken

100g chicken - cut into chunks Black pepper orange - cut in 1/4s 2-3 cloves minced garlic 1 T fresh ginger root (about 1/2"-1" long piece, peeled & minced) 1/2 t basil Juice of half lemon

Preheat pan over MED heat. Sprinkle chicken with pepper. Add chicken to pan and stir fry until brown on all sides, about 5-10 mins. Add garlic and cook for 1 min. Squeeze juice of orange quarters over chicken. Peel & separate orange into sections. Add orange sections, ginger, lemon juice, and basil. Stir well. Cover and simmer for about 20-30 mins.

NOTE: This includes your meat and fruit portion for this meal.

I'm Skinny But Still Look Fat, I Look So Bloated! Why Have I Got This Fat Stomach?

How is it possible? I weigh under 8 stone (112lbs.) yet I still look fat! My stomach is permanently bloated and I look about 5 months pregnant! I eat healthily. I rarely touch junk food. I never eat after 5pm yet by evening my stomach is huge!

That was me for more years than I care to remember. I'd get on the scales every morning and peer in the mirror thinking I looked okay, then by midday my stomach would start to swell. I chose my meals with care eating as little as possible. I followed the rule to eat like a king in the morning and a pauper at night. I took up karate then 'went for the burn' with the Jane Fonda routine. I tried exercise bikes, rowing machines, toning tables, slender tone pads. You name it - I tried it. Anything to get rid of that damned fat belly but all to no avail.

Every day was the same. A slim silhouette in the morning, a bloated stomach by evening. I could do more crunches and leg raises (with ankle weights) than anyone I knew but my shape remained the same. I consulted doctors and underwent several unpleasant, invasive hospital tests to try and establish the cause of my bloating. Nothing could be found. I followed diets recommended by registered nutritionists. Still no success. I chewed charcoal tablets, drank peppermint tea and popped endless anti spasmodic pills in my search for a cure but the result was always the same. No change.

In the end I decided to find a solution myself and embarked on a radical elimination diet. I kept a diary and set up charts and literally lived for 5 days on nothing more than cornflakes and milk. Probably not the healthiest option, I grant you, however by the end of those 5 days my stomach was the flattest it had been in years. I then gradually began re-introducing foods one by one and noting down any bloating that occurred. As time went on a pattern emerged and I discovered that I could pinpoint the main cause of my bloating to a single ingredient in my diet.

Since that time my body image has changed completely and I have been able to control my bloated stomach. Sure I still have 'fat days' but at least now I have the knowledge to choose whether to live with occasional bloating or not. Strangely enough, now that I know how to control it I am less bothered when my stomach does bloat from time to time because I know I can get rid of it quickly by eliminating the troublesome foods. It all comes down to the old adage about 'knowledge being a wonderful thing'.

How Does the Body Process Sugar?

Simple sugars are one of the two forms of carbohydrates. (The other sphere of carbohydrates would be starches) Simple sugars come in the form of processed/refined sugars which would be found in junk food or in a natural form which would be found in fruits. Clearly, junk food sugars are more problematic than natural sugars although both are essentially processed the same way. Actually, the same could be said of starches since the body will break them down into simple sugars in the bloodstream.

Ultimately, when sugars are released into the bloodstream, there will be a clear effect on the system. Specifically, the pancreas will react to the presence of sugar by releasing a hormone known as insulin. It is insulin that is employed to move sugar through the bloodstream and to the cellular level.

What is so important about sugar that is needed by the cells? Basically, sugar is a source of energy. When the body needs to expend energy, it will employ the sugars in the cells to deliver such a response. This is why the low carbohydrate diet yields such an effective weight loss impact. This brings up another point that bears mentioning. When you ingest a diet that is very high in sugar content and you do not burn it, the excess turns to fat and it can turn to fat rapidly. Since it is extremely difficult to burn them off, excess always remains. That, in turn, means there will be a lot of excess calories that turn to stored fat.

Natural carbohydrates and sugars are lower in calories and they do not break down and flood the bloodstream as quickly. That means they are not as guilty of promoting excess weight gain as the other sugars.

Regardless of the type of sugars that you ingest, it is best to never overdo it. This is because a diet that is loaded with sugar will mean the bloodstream will be flooded with insulin. This can lead to problems such as heart disease and diabetes over time. This is most definitely a serious issue which is why people need to pay attention to the effects of sugar on the body and to curtail eating sugars to excess.

Simple carbohydrates are digested quickly. Many simple carbohydrates contain refined sugars and few essential vitamins and minerals. People usually consider these as bad carbohydrates.

Why bad?

These simple carbohydrates are actually smaller molecules of sugar unlike the long chains in complex carbohydrates.

They are digested quickly because the individual sugars are ready to be absorbed immediately plus digestive enzymes have easy access to the bonds in the paired molecules.

You could say most of the work has been done for the digestive system! Foods like cake, pastry, biscuits, chocolate, etc (you get the idea) contain lots of "empty" calories.

If you are cutting weight for wrestling, and want to be the BEST your potential will allow, make sure you:

1. Keep Up Your Strength Training

During the off-season you want to work to gain as much strength as possible. I recommend training 3 times each week in the weight room, working the muscles that are used for wrestling. Be consistent and document your progress. Always strive to add a little more weight or repetitions. During the wrestling season, YOU HAVE TO STRENGTH TRAIN! You will not keep strength gained during the off-season if you neglect training during the season. If you are cutting weight, it is even more important to keep up your strength training. If you are cutting weight, practicing, and wrestling in dual meets and tournaments, your body is using its own muscle for food. You can prevent some of this by getting in a full body strength training workout every 4-5 days.

2. Eat More Frequently

Don't starve your body to make weight! If you starve your body, you are slowing your metabolism down. Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories. A calorie is a unit of energy. By starving, you will cause a rebound effect, and have even more trouble making weight next season. The answer lies in trying to lose fat, not muscle and water. You do this by eating more frequently. Four smaller meals each day will allow you to lose body fat while sparing muscle, give you energy to wrestle hard, and be strong the entire match.

3. Give Your Body The Correct Amount of Calories

To find out how many calories your body needs to keep up muscle while cutting weight, take your current body weight, and multiply times 13. This is the minimum number of calories you need to consume each day.

4. Eat a 40-30-30 Ratio

Now that you know how many calories you need to cut weight and still keep your muscle and strength that you've built up, you need to eat the proper ratio of protein, carbohydrates and fats. 40% of your calories should come from lean proteins (egg whites, turkey, lean beef, whey protein powder, skinless chicken). 30% of your daily calories should come from complex carbohydrates (multi grain bread, baked potato, sweet potato, brown rice, oatmeal), and 30% of your calories should come from unsaturated fats (olive oil, nuts). Usually you don't have to figure in the fats other than a tiny bit of oil on a salad, because the meats that you consume will have a small percentage of fat that will suffice for the day.

5. Don't Jog excessively If Your Goal Is To Make Weight

Nothing is more grueling than a tough high school or college wrestling practice. You shouldn't get in the habit of jogging for miles, and miles each week in order to lose weight. First of all, it will not give you the endurance for wrestling like good old-fashioned live wrestling in practice will. If you try to lose weight by jogging, you will start eating the muscle off of your body. Aerobic activity is NOT an efficient means of losing fat. A controlled meal plan is the answer.

6. Don't Dehydrate

In order to wrestle at your best, and have your body working efficiently, you need to have all of the body systems working optimally. Each of your body systems requires water. If you have to lose a couple of pounds to make weight after you have followed the above tips, then you will restrict your water intake. Restricting water intake is not the same as not drinking water at all though. You still need to give yourself 3-4 ounces of water every 3 hours on days that you are trying to make weight. Remember, this is to keep up your strength. You need to plan well in order to do this right. Don't weight until two days before, and get drastic in your weight loss system.

7. Stay Away From Sugar

Wrestlers who cut weight by eating very little and doing excessive jogging tend to get sugar cravings. Sugar has no place in your wresting meal plan. The only time my clients consume sugar is immediately following an intense strength training session. If you are within 3 or 4 lbs. of your weight class, you might want to consume 60 grams or so of high glycemic carbohydrates (sugar) on the form of grape juice or apple juice within 20 minutes of your strength training session. This replenishes the body's glycogen stores and helps with recuperation. In general, stay away from sugars. They have no long-term positive effects on your energy. They are much more likely to be converted and stored as fat.
